BENCHMARKING VISIT BY PENGERANG MUNICIPAL COUNCIL AND PLANMalaysia STRENGTHENS SHARING OF BEST PRACTICES IN URBAN MANAGEMENT

IPOH, 7 OCTOBER 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) today received a benchmarking visit from the Pengerang Municipal Council together with the Southern Zone Project Office, PLANMalaysia.

The visit aimed to share experiences and best practices in urban planning, development and management.

The programme, held on 7 and 8 October 2026, involved 26 participants and was led by Pengerang Municipal Council President Norazmi Amir Hamzah.

The delegation’s arrival at MBI was welcomed by MBI Chief Whip Dato’ Mazlan Abd. Rahman, representing Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, and MBI Corporate Planning Director Faridah Abdul Aziz.

Besides the briefing and Q&A session regarding the Ipoh Town Special Area Plan (RKK) 2035, the programme also included visits to several popular attractions in Ipoh, i.e., Kinta Riverwalk, Gunung Lang Recreational Park and Concubine Lane.
