BRIEFING ON PERAK HOTEL ENACTMENT 2023 STRENGTHENS GOVERNANCE OF HOTEL SECTOR IN IPOH
IPOH, 28 APRIL 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) today organised a Briefing on the Perak Hotel Enactment 2023 at the Operations Room, Level 2, MBI Building.
The briefing at 9.30 am was officiated by MBI Chief WHIP Dato' Mazlan Abd. Rahman, representing the Mayor of Ipoh.
The programme was held to provide a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the implementation of the Perak Hotel Enactment 2023, particularly to those involved in aspects of licensing, enforcement, monitoring and administration related to the hotel sector.
According to the MBI Chief WHIP, the Perak Hotel Enactment 2023 is an important step in strengthening governance in the hotel sector in Perak. It aims to standardise regulations related to hotel management and operations, improve compliance levels, strengthen regulatory control and ensure that the hotel industry develops in a more organised, competitive and safe manner.
He also stressed that the implementation of any regulation or enactment would not achieve its objectives without the understanding, cooperation and commitment from all parties.
Hence, this briefing session is an important platform to ensure that every party understands their roles, responsibilities and implementation procedures that have been set.
“Hopefully, all information and guidelines obtained through this briefing session will be used as a basis in strengthening the execution of their duties, thereby helping to ensure that the implementation of the Perak Hotel Enactment 2023 runs smoothly, effectively and achieves the desired objectives,” he said.
The briefing also provided space for participants to exchange views, share experiences and raise questions regarding the implementation of the enactment.
The Ipoh City Council would like to express its appreciation to all parties involved in making the organisation of this briefing a success, including the secretariat, speakers and participants.
MBI hopes that this effort will benefit all parties and contribute to improving the quality of governance in the hotel sector in Ipoh City and Perak as a whole.
