FAREWELL SEND-OFF CEREMONY FOR PARTICIPANTS OF FUKUOKA–IPOH SISTER CITY STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
IPOH, 14 AUGUST 2026 (FRIDAY) – Ipoh City Council (MBI) held a Farewell Send-Off Ceremony for the Participants of the Student Exchange Programme today in front of the Meeting Hall, Ipoh City Council Building.
The ceremony at 8.30 am was officiated by Kasturi a/p Murugiah, Senior Assistant Director of Community Services, MBI Community and Social Services Department.
This student exchange programme is an initiative that provides participants the opportunity to gain new experiences, broaden their knowledge and enhance their understanding of cultural diversity, community life and different learning environments.
The organising of such a programme serves as a platform to shape a younger generation that is more confident, open-minded and capable of adapting to diverse environments. The experiences gained throughout the programme are hoped to benefit the participants in developing their character, leadership skills and academic excellence in the future.
This farewell send-off ceremony marks the end of the students’ participation in the programme before they return to Fukuoka, Japan, after completing all the planned activities.
MBI extends its appreciation to all parties who have given their cooperation and commitment in making this programme a success, particularly the host families, Perak Education Department, host schools and all those involved directly and indirectly.
Hopefully, the cooperation and relationships established through this student exchange programme will continue to be strengthened and open up more opportunities for the younger generation to gain international learning experiences and exposure.
