IPOH SELECTED AS VENUE FOR NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH 2026

11 October 2026 – Ipoh, Perak, has been selected as the venue for the National Preparedness Month (BKN) 2026.

The launch ceremony today was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Also present at the programme were Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, State Assembly Speaker Dato’ Seri Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato’ Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Prime Minister’s Department Senior Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Abd Shukor Mahmood, National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) Director-General Dato’ Meor Ismail Meor Hakim, NADMA Deputy Director-General (Post-Disaster Management Division) Datuk Hussain Moh and Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah.

With the theme “MADANI Prepared, A Shared Responsibility”, the two-day programme, which began on 10 October at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC), featured a variety of interesting activities, including the MADANI Preparedness Exhibition, Assets and Machinery Exhibition, Immersive Zone Exhibition, Rahmah Sales Programme, MBI Pop-Up Sales and a High-Rise Building Tactical Rescue Demonstration held in conjunction with the launch ceremony of BKN 2026.

The BKN celebration was organised with the aim of serving as a catalyst for raising awareness among all parties of the importance of disaster preparedness and risk reduction through a comprehensive government approach and the active involvement of local communities.
