MAYOR OF IPOH ATTENDS OPENING CEREMONY OF PERAK PAVILION IN CONJUNCTION WITH MAHA 2026

SERDANG, 1 SEPTEMBER 2026 – The Perak Pavilion at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 was officially opened today at MAEPS in Serdang, as a platform to showcase the potential, products and strengths of Perak’s agriculture and agrofood sectors.  

The opening ceremony was officiated by Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, who also took the time to tour the Perak Pavilion to personally view the exhibitions and products showcased during MAHA 2026.  

Also present was State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, together with the State Government leadership, department and agency heads, and industry representatives.  

Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah was also present to show support for the Perak State Government’s efforts in promoting the agriculture, agrofood and agrotourism sectors as among the drivers of the state’s economic development.  

The ceremony was enlivened with an opening performance by Kumpulan Selendang Perak, besides a tour around the Perak Pavilion and the launch of the Satey Ayam product by Dindings Poultry Processing Sdn. Bhd.  

Perak’s participation in MAHA 2026 provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs, industry players and related agencies to introduce their respective products and innovations to visitors, while also expanding business networks and opening up potential strategic collaborations in the agriculture and agrofood sectors.  

The Perak Pavilion also serves as an important medium for showcasing the state’s uniqueness and potential to visitors from within and outside the country, thereby strengthening efforts to promote Perak as a destination with strengths in agriculture, food industry and agrotourism.
