MBI ASSESSMENT TAX LUCKY DRAW SESSION 2026

IPOH, 27 APRIL 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) today organised the MBI Assessment Tax Lucky Draw Session 2026 at Dewan Azlan Shah, Level 10, MBI Building. The programme was also broadcast live via MBI’s official Facebook page.

The lucky draw session was officiated by Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah. Also present were MBI Chief WHIP Dato’ Mazlan Abd Rahman, Councillors, MBI department heads, village heads and resident representatives.

This programme was held as a token of appreciation by MBI to Ipoh residents who settled their annual assessment tax payments without arrears within the stipulated period. Participation for the 2026 Assessment Tax Lucky Draw ended on 28 February 2026.

This year, MBI offered a total of 228 attractive prizes worth RM106,000 to eligible taxpayers. The grand prize was a Proton Saga MC3 1.5 Standard car.

In addition, various attractive prizes were offered, including two motorcycles, a 65-inch television, a 660-litre refrigerator, Honor Pads, laptops, cash and other electrical appliances.

As a gesture of appreciation to early payers of the 2026 Assessment Tax, MBI also provided cutlery set souvenirs to 10,000 early taxpayers, subject to the terms and conditions set. Previously, MBI had organised the Assessment Tax Lucky Draw for early payers for the November and December 2025 editions on 16 January 2026, with two motorcycles as prizes.

MBI also opened up lucky draw participation opportunities for all taxpayers who made annual assessment tax payments without arrears via various payment channels.

These payment channels include MBI Payment Counters, Post Office Counters, Perak PBT Counters, as well as online payments via MBI Portal, PBTPay, JomPAY and internet banking.

For online payments and through collection agents, lucky draw slips were automatically processed by the Council. This initiative aimed to encourage city residents to make payments more conveniently without having to go to the counters, while still having the chance to participate in the lucky draw.

For the collection of one-year assessment tax bill payments, MBI recorded 128,865 bills with a total payment of RM71.42 million. This shows an increase of 4 percent compared to 2025, i.e., 123,329 bills with a total payment of RM68.64 million.

In this session, draws were conducted to determine 228 winners, comprising 200 consolation prize winners and 28 main prize winners.

For the main prizes, a follow-up draw will be held on a date to be fixed to determine the prizes to be won by the winners.

MBI would like to extend its congratulations and appreciation to all Ipoh residents who have fulfilled their responsibility of paying assessment tax.

The continued support from the city residents is very important in helping MBI realise its aspiration of making Ipoh a Smart and Prosperous City.
