MBI BALLOTING SESSION 01/25 CONDUCTED LIVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

IPOH, 10 JUNE 2025 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) remains committed to enhancing the transparency and efficiency in its procurement system by organising the Balloting Session 01/25 live on its official Facebook page "FB Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh" this morning. 

The balloting ceremony was officiated by Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, and was attended by City Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak, representatives from the Contractors Service Centre, PERKOBF Perak, as well as senior directors and department heads of MBI.

For this session, a total of 27 contracts were offered, involving two main departments with a total allocation of RM2.3 million:

a) Landscape Department – Upgrading of courts, fields, installation of fencing and ball barriers, supply of park benches and shade trees (RM624 thousand);

b) Engineering Department – Road resurfacing works (RM1.7 million).

This allocation includes:

a) RM1.4 million – Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) fund;

b) RM300,000 – People's Economy Fund (Public Facilities Incentive);

c) RM624,000 – MBI allocation.

This balloting is open to G1 contractors registered with CIDB in the public works category from the Kinta district only, with a contract value below RM100,000, in accordance with the Malaysian Treasury Circular PK 2.21.

A total of 127 contractors who passed the screening and met the eligibility requirements participated in this balloting session, which is expected to stimulate the local economy and create job opportunities for local residents.

An official notice was posted on the MBI Portal and Facebook, while online registration was open from 15 May to 22 May 2025.
