MBI BERHAD WORKERS' COOPERATIVE HOLDS 51ST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

23 APRIL 2025 - Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah officiated the Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) Berhad Workers' Cooperative 51st Annual General Meeting yesterday afternoon.

Also present were Perak State Cooperative Commission Assistant Director Muhamad Akmal Ibrahim, and MBI Berhad Workers' Cooperative Chairman Mahendran a/l Suppiah Raman.

Speaking at the event, Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari called on the MBI Cooperative to continue being the protector of its members’ welfare, either through welfare funds or other support services, to ensure that no members are left out of the cooperative's attention.

He added that the real strength of a cooperative is not merely in numbers, but in the sense of togetherness and family spirit that lives among its members.

For the record, the MBI Cooperative is currently ranked 116th among the 16,000 cooperatives in Malaysia and 10th in the state of Perak. The capital of the cooperative members has reached RM24 million, and its financing assets have reached RM35 million. These figures reflect the high level of trust of its members in the cooperative.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with the 51st Annual General Meeting, the Mayor also announced good news for cooperative members, i.e., a dividend payment of 10% on fee capital and dividend of 10% on share capital, totalling RM2.42 million.
