MBI ORGANISES MBI BEST NIGHT MARKET COMPETITION NO. 1/2025
MBI Organises Competition for the First Time to Recognise the Role of Organisers and Traders.
IPOH, 4 JUNE 2025 – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) conducted a briefing session for the MBI Best Night Market Competition No.1/2025, with the attendance of 18 night market organisers from throughout the MBI administrative area.
They comprised 9 Hawker Associations, 6 Residents Associations and 3 Mosque/Surau Committees.
The briefing session was officiated by MBI Senior Director (Administration & Operations) Abdul Halim Saad, and was also attended by City Health Director M Raman a/l Maran, and MBI Enforcement and Security Director Ahmad Zaiyadi Sudin.
The briefing on competition criteria and compliance aspects was delivered by MBI Environmental Health Department Supervisor (Hawkers) Noraini Abu Bakar, and Muhammad Aswad Abd Rashid from Green Energy Asia Biofuel Resources, MBI's strategic partner in the circular economy initiative.
This competition is MBI’s inaugural initiative, aimed at recognising the important role of night market organisers, hawkers and small traders in stimulating the local economy. In addition to providing participants with the opportunity to showcase their creativity and service quality, the competition also serves as a platform to foster entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and healthy competition among the city’s microeconomic players.
The competition is open to all night market organisers registered with MBI, and participation is highly welcomed as a step towards strengthening strategic ties between the local authority and the business community.
