MBI TENPIN BOWLING TEAM CLINCHES THIRD PLACE AT PBT (MALA) SPORTS CARNIVAL PHASE 3, 2026

PULAU PINANG, 8 AUGUST 2026 – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) Tenpin Bowling Team achieved a proud milestone by clinching third place overall out of 80 teams competing in the tenpin bowling event at the Local Authorities (MALA) Sports Carnival Phase 3, 2026.  

The tournament, held at Mega Mall Bowling Centre in Perai, Penang, saw the MBI team record a total of 5,573 pinfalls, placing the MBI contingent among the top three teams in the tournament.  

Four categories were contested in the tenpin bowling event, i.e., Singles, Doubles, Trios and Doubles VIP. 

Even more impressive, MBI emerged as champion in the Doubles category. 

Meanwhile, MBI athlete Nor Baitul Ayu Atisya Mohamad Ayob brought honour to MBI by recording the highest pinfall score among female participants, with a total of 1,972 pinfalls throughout the tournament.  

The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by Penang State Local Government and Town & Country Planning Committee Chairman H’ng Mooi Lye.  

Ipoh City Council extends its highest congratulations and appreciation to the entire MBI tenpin bowling contingent for their commitment, discipline and high fighting spirit demonstrated throughout the tournament.  

This achievement not only brings honour to MBI but also reflects the sportsmanship, teamwork and determination of MBI staff to continue striving for excellence at higher levels.
