Dato' Rumaizi bin Baharin @ Md Daud was appointed as the Mayor of Ipoh on 1 April 2020. He was born on 17 April 1975 in Ipoh, Perak. He started his career as an Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Rural Development on 1 April 2000.

He began serving in the state of Perak on 15 April 2003 as an Assistant Director at the Land and Mines Office, and subsequently as Senior Private Secretary to the Perak Menteri Besar on 16 November 2009, and Perak State Assembly and Exco Division Secretary in the Perak State Secretariat Administration on 1 February 2010.

He holds a Premier Business Management Certificate from Harvard Business School, a Master of Science in Development & Land Administration from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, a Diploma in Public Management (INTAN) and a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) from Universiti Utara Malaysia.

His last position before being appointed as the Mayor of Ipoh was as the Director of Perak Land and Mines on 27 March 2017.
