HRH SULTAN OF PERAK AND HRH RAJA PERMAISURI OF PERAK GRACE NUSANTARA CHARITY DINNER
3 MAY 2025 - HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim graced the Nusantara Charity Dinner, organised by Kelab Bakti Gunung Keledang in collaboration with Ipoh City Council (MBI), at the Ipoh Convention Centre here last night.
Their Royal Highnesses’ arrival at 8:30 pm was welcomed by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin.
Also present at the event were Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Jen. Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri DiRaja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md Nor, State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohamad Zahir Abd Khalid and wife Datin Aznee Abu Samah, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abd Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, and Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah.
According to Ipoh City Councillor cum Kelab Bakti Gunung Keledang President Clr. Muhammad Hamzah Md Hamdan, the charity dinner was organised to raise funds for Yayasan Bakti Gunung Keledang to implement welfare programmes and activities throughout this year.
The club also aims to assist the state government in disseminating information related to TVET programmes in the effort to empower the field.
Through this event, a total of 10 organisations were selected, including orphanage associations, educational centres, orphan student funds, disabled persons (OKU) associations, and tahfiz schools, to receive donations totalling RM150,000.
The event, attended by about 1,400 guests, also witnessed the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MOUs) between KBGK and several entities, including Ipoh City Council (MBI), Community Development Department (KEMAS), Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS), and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
After the banquet, guests were entertained with seven songs: Mentera Semerah Padi, Ada, Tanya Sama Itu Hud Hud, Hati Emas, Mustika, Bonda, and ended with Satu Hari Di Hari Raya by renowned local singer Dato' (Dr) M. Nasir.
Their Royal Highnesses then departed after the event, which successfully raised RM700,000 via the sale of 140 tables, ended at around 11:00 pm.
