LOCAL AUTHORITIES ASSOCIATION (MALA) SPORTS CARNIVAL PHASE 3, 2026 TAKES PLACE IN PENANG

PULAU PINANG, 7 AUGUST 2026 – Penang was selected as the host venue for the Local Authorities Association (MALA) Sports Carnival Phase 3, 2026.  

Three sports events were contested in this tournament, i.e., tenpin bowling, snooker and e-sports.  

The four-day tournament, from 5 August, saw the Ipoh City Council (MBI) sending a contingent of 15 participants to compete in the tenpin bowling and snooker events.  

MBI contingent’s participation in this tournament reflects its commitment to nurturing a workforce that is fit, competitive and highly motivated, besides strengthening teamwork culture and fostering collaboration networks and good relations among Local Authorities (PBTs).  

It is hoped that MBI’s participation in the MALA Sports Carnival Phase 3, 2026 will continue to ignite the spirit of sportsmanship, strengthen bonds of friendship and bring honour to the organisation at the PBT level.
