"MALAM CERITA KITA" LIVENS UP DATARAN BANDARYA IPOH

IPOH, 25 JULY 2026 – Dataran Bandaraya Ipoh tonight was enlivened with the rhythm of music and a nostalgic atmosphere through the organising of the “Malam Cerita Kita” (Our Story Night) programme by the Ipoh City Council (MBI). 

The programme, from 8.30 pm to 11.00 pm, was officiated by Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah. Also present were MBI Councillors and Heads of Departments. 

The event featured entertaining musical performances by Kumpulan Gema Warisan Budaya of Ipoh City Council, presenting a repertoire of songs that conveyed various stories, memories and values of togetherness. 

"Malam Cerita Kita" was organised as a platform to bring together Ipoh residents in a relaxed, lively and family-friendly atmosphere, besides fostering community love for local music and culture. 

The programme also provided an opportunity for the public to spend quality time with family and friends while enjoying the weekend night atmosphere in the heart of Ipoh City. 

The organising of this programme reflects MBI's ongoing commitment to increasing wholesome and inclusive artistic, cultural and entertainment activities for all segments of society to enjoy.

At the same time, the programme revitalised Dataran Bandaraya Ipoh as a lively, vibrant public space, serving as a venue for community gatherings and interactions. 

MBI hopes that programmes such as this will continue to strengthen community bonds, enliven the city atmosphere and create beautiful memories via melodies and stories that unite the residents of Ipoh.
