MAYOR OF IPOH ATTENDS LAUNCH OF NATIONAL DAY AND MALAYSIA DAY 2026

IPOH, 19 JULY 2026 – Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah attended the Launch Ceremony of National Day and Malaysia Day 2026, officiated by Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. 

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and Dato' Seri Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil, Communications Minister and Main Committee Chairman for National Day and Malaysia Day 2026. 

The ceremony was also attended by Federal and State Government leaders, heads of departments, representatives of government agencies, and distinguished guests.

The highlight of the event was the launch speech by the Prime Minister, followed by the raising of the Jalur Gemilang, the singing of the national anthem Negaraku, and the recitation of the Rukun Negara pledge.

The event was further enlivened with a special video presentation, cultural and artistic performances, and the launch of JAGO@Merdeka as part of efforts to ignite patriotism, strengthen national identity and deepen love for the country among Malaysians.

This ceremony marked the beginning of various programmes and activities for the National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 celebrations nationwide.

The celebration also served as an important platform to encourage all Malaysians to embrace the meaning of independence, honour the sacrifices of past freedom fighters, strengthen unity and together fly the Jalur Gemilang with pride.

The presence of the Mayor of Ipoh reflects the Ipoh City Council's continued support and commitment to the success of the national agenda, besides fostering the spirit of patriotism, unity and love for the country among the residents of Ipoh.
