MBI APPRECIATES EXCELLENT FIELD STAFF OF PARKS AND LANDSCAPE DEPARTMENT THROUGH GIVING OF REWARD

IPOH, 14 SEPTEMBER 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) continues to appreciate and recognise the commitment and contributions of field staff, who are among the main pillars in ensuring the beauty, cleanliness and cheerfulness of the Ipoh City landscape are always maintained, through giving Reward to Excellent Field Staff of MBI Parks and Landscape Department for the period January to June 2026.

MBI Parks and Landscape Director LAr. Mohd Nazim Mohamed Nor, representing Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, presented the Reward to selected MBI staff in recognition of their excellent performance and commitment in carrying out their duties

The initiative, spearheaded by the Mayor of Ipoh, is one of MBI’s efforts to cultivate a culture of excellence, boost motivation and instill enthusiasm among field staff to continue providing the best services to the community.

The MBI Parks and Landscape Department plays an important role in implementing the development and management of the city’s landscape, including the maintenance of trees, open spaces, public parks, recreational facilities and playground equipment, while ensuring the urban environment remains well-managed, safe, beautiful and conducive.

The selection of Reward recipients involved field staff among General Service Assistants, Vehicle Drivers and Supervisors, based on several established assessment criteria. These include being free from disciplinary action, having an excellent attendance record, not taking sick leave or annual leave during the assessment month, not being late for duty, and demonstrating good levels of discipline, commitment and work performance.

The final assessment of recipients was made by a panel from the Parks and Landscape Department to ensure the selection was conducted transparently, fairly and based on merit.

For the period January to June 2026, a total of 60 staff from 12 units under the MBI Parks and Landscape Department were selected as recipients based on their excellence in carrying out maintenance works on trees, open spaces, public parks, as well as facilities and playground equipment.

Each recipient received a Certificate of Excellence and a cash reward of RM100, credited directly into their respective bank accounts. As a gesture of appreciation and public recognition, the recipients’ names and photos were also displayed at strategic locations frequently visited by the public.

MBI hopes this recognition will serve as a catalyst for all field staff to continue improving work quality, strengthening discipline and productivity, and fostering healthy competition in providing the best services to city residents.

This recognition also reflects MBI’s commitment that every effort, hard work and contribution of its staff, especially those working in the field, are always valued in the collective effort to make Ipoh a clean, beautiful, green, comfortable and prosperous city in line with the aspirations of Ipoh Bestari Sejahtera.
