MBI STRENGTHENS ENGAGEMENT, SEEKS SOLUTIONS TO STRATA ISSUES AT KINTA RIVERFRONT HOTEL & SUITES

IPOH, 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) continues to strengthen its engagement approach with the community by holding a discussion session with the developer, Joint Management Body (JMB), management agent and parcel owners of the Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites Strata Development Scheme.

The session was attended by about 150 people representing various stakeholders in the development scheme.

MBI was represented by MBI Chief Whip Clr. Wong Kar Keat, together with Ikhwan Syafieq Mohd Sarwani, Head of MBI Commissioner Buildings Unit.

Also present were MBI heads of departments and units, senior officers and department representatives, who gave their full commitment in examining the issues raised and providing views, clarifications and advice based on their respective areas of authority.

This engagement session was among MBI’s proactive efforts to listen directly to the problems faced by the strata community, particularly regarding scheme management, shared facilities and parking issues, as well as to identify practical and implementable solutions.

Through the session, all parties were given the opportunity to openly present their views, explanations and suggestions to ensure that every issue could be examined thoroughly and fairly.

MBI acts as a facilitator in assisting all parties to reach the best possible solution, taking into account the interests of owners, the responsibilities of the management body, the obligations of the developer, and the need to comply with legal provisions and regulations regarding strata management.

This consultative and cooperative approach is important to avoid prolonged issues and to ensure the harmony, safety and comfort of the community in the said strata development area continue to be preserved.

MBI remains committed to ensuring that every complaint and issue within the Council’s jurisdiction is handled professionally, transparently and prudently, in line with the aspiration to provide responsive municipal services that prioritise the wellbeing of Ipoh city residents.

The engagement session took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere before concluding at around 1.00pm.
