MBI WINS THIRD PLACE IN BEST PARADE AT PERAK NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION 2026

IPOH, 31 AUGUST 2026 – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) contingent achieved a proud success by winning third place in the Best Parade for the Local Authority/Statutory Body, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) and Private Sector category at the Perak State-Level National Day Celebration 2026 held this morning. 

Following the achievement, the MBI contingent received a cash prize of RM2,000 and a certificate of appreciation. 

HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah presented the prize to Muhammad Firdaus Hassan, Head of MBI Marching Contingent. 

This year’s MBI contingent comprised 57 parade members and 12 secretariat officers from various MBI departments. All members underwent intensive training since 3 August 2026 in preparation to ensure that the level of discipline, synchronised movements and quality of performance were at the best. 

The determination, commitment and team spirit displayed throughout the parade were clearly evident through the synchronised movements, high discipline and energetic performance, which successfully enthralled the panel of judges and secured the placing for the MBI contingent. 

This success was also driven by the continuous support and guidance of Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah and City Secretary A’zman Mohd Harun, besides the high commitment of the officers, trainers, secretariat and all contingent members who gave their full effort throughout the training and preparation period. 

The achievement is not only a source of pride for the entire MBI community, but also reflects the values of discipline, unity, team spirit and strong patriotism among the staff of the Ipoh City Council. 

MBI extends its highest congratulations and appreciation to all the contingent members, officers, trainers and secretariat for their commitment and dedication, which successfully brought honour to the Ipoh City Council at the Perak State-Level National Day Celebration 2026.
