OPENING CEREMONY OF YOUTH-FRIENDLY CARNIVAL (KAMU) 2026 LIVELY
IPOH, 19 SEPTEMBER 2026 – The Opening Ceremony of the Youth-Friendly Carnival (KAMU) 2026 was held in a lively atmosphere at Stadium Indera Mulia in Ipoh this afternoon.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.
Also present was Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, together with distinguished guests, strategic partners, representatives of departments and agencies, and youths who came to enliven the carnival.
KAMU 2026 serves as a platform to bring together youths through various programmes that provide them with opportunities to interact, showcase their talents and creativity, and participate in activities focused on youth development.
Among the highlights of the opening ceremony were an opening performance, the KAMU 2026 keynote address by the Perak Menteri Besar, the KAMU 2026 launch gimmick, a montage presentation, and the presentation of appreciation plaques to KAMU 2026 strategic partners.
The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of the Golden Hand Appreciation Award as one of the main events in the opening programme.
After the ceremony, the Menteri Besar conducted a walkabout at the carnival site to observe the various activities and programmes provided throughout KAMU 2026.
The organising of this carnival also provides a platform to strengthen collaborative networks among the government, agencies, strategic partners and youths, while encouraging young people to participate in positive and beneficial activities
