OPERATION TO DEMOLISH UNAPPROVED STRUCTURES PHASE 2/2026 (NO. 2/4)

IPOH, 28 APRIL 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) carried out the Operation to Demolish Unapproved Structures Phase 2/2026 (No. 2/4) today, which was a matter arising from the Council Traffic, Transportation and Infrastructure Advisory Committee Meeting involving unapproved structures used as car sheds and stores on open space reserves. 

We wish to inform that the implementation of this operation was in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) set, i.e., via the issuance of a Demolition Notice under the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974 (Act 133), with a compliance period of thirty (30) days. This case had been granted an extension of the notice compliance period, but the structures were still not demolished by the owners. 

The operation involved about 80 personnel with the cooperation of various agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Perak Land and Mines Office (PTG). 

The demolition operation started at 9.00 am and was completed at around 12.00 noon.
