OPERATION TO DEMOLISH UNAPPROVED STRUCTURES PHASE 3/2026
IPOH, 12 AUGUST 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) carried out the Operation to Demolish Unapproved Structures Phase 3/2026, involving action against a fence structure erected on road reserves without the approval of the relevant authorities.
The demolition operation was conducted based on the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Prior to the demolition action, a Demolition Notice was issued under the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974 (Act 133), with a period of 30 days given to the parties concerned to comply with the instructions contained in the notice.
This enforcement action was carried out after the compliance period had expired and the structure concerned had not been removed as directed.
The demolition operation started at 9.00 am and was completed at around 12.00 noon.
MBI wishes to stress that such enforcement actions are carried out to ensure that all development and structures within the Council’s administrative area comply with legal provisions and do not obstruct, encroach upon or affect the function of road reserves and public facilities.
In this regard, MBI urges all premises owners and members of the public to obtain prior approval before erecting any structures or constructions, particularly those involving road reserves and public land.
The cooperation of all parties is greatly appreciated in the effort to ensure that Ipoh City remains safe, orderly and prosperous.
