PICNIC SETUP DECO COMPETITION ENLIVENS IPOH CITY 37TH ANNIVERSARY CARNIVAL

IPOH, 21 JUNE 2025 – A total of 13 teams comprising 39 participants – Ipoh residents involved in the event management sector – participated in the Picnic Setup Deco Competition in conjunction with Ipoh City 37th anniversary celebration, which was held in a joyful atmosphere at Taman D.R. Seenivasagam.

This inaugural competition featured a decoration concept themed “Nostalgia Picnic, Retro Market” that brought a touch of the 60s to the 80s. The participants' creative touches really captured the attention of many visitors, including Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah.

Each group was given three hours to decorate a 10 x 15 square-foot space according to their creativity. A panel of three judges was invited to make assessments based on theme adherence, cleanliness, decoration cheerfulness, and use of recycled materials as bonus points.

The champion took home RM1,000 and a certificate of participation, second place RM750, third place RM500, while 4th to 10th places received RM200 and a certificate of participation.
