Open Data

Open data refers to government data that can be shared and reused by citizens, public or private sector agencies for any purpose. The data found in the data.gov.my portal can also be used freely by any portal user as long as it does not violate the terms and conditions stated in the data policy. It also plays a role as a driving force in people-centered government initiatives. The implementation of open data can improve the quality and transparency of government service delivery through accurate, fast and relevant data sharing. In addition, it can also increase productivity and the national economy through new industries/innovations with the involvement of citizens and the business community.
