80 PARTICIPANTS TAKE PART IN DATO HAJI MAZLAN CUP SKATEBOARDING COMPETITION

4 January 2025 - A total of 80 participants took part in the Dato Haji Mazlan Cup Skateboarding Competition this afternoon. 

The programme, initiated by Dato Mazlan Abd Rahman, Chief WHIP of MBI Council Members, was held at the Futsal Field, Taman Perpaduan in Ipoh. It was attended by more than 200 youths. 

All the participants comprised teenagers from Ipoh city.

This inaugural programme aimed to unearth new young talents, besides the sport having the potential to be developed in Ipoh city. 

Apart from the skateboarding competition, the other sports contested in this event was the PES Mobile Tournament Esports, which involved 50 participants. 

Earlier, Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud officiated the competition and presented prizes to the winners last night. 

The winner of the competition received cash prizes, hampers and trophies.

It is hoped that such programmes can be organised again in the future on a larger scale, so that this sport can gain recognition and further developed in Ipoh city.
