BRIEFING ON IMPLEMENTATION OF SALES TAX AND SERVICE TAX (SST) IN GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT

IPOH, 10 FEBRUARY 2026 – Ipoh City Council (MBI) held a briefing on the implementation of Sales Tax and Service Tax (SST) in government procurement.

The briefing by Perak Customs Assistant Director Mohamed Inmran Sahul Hamid was attended by Department Heads, officers and staff of the Ipoh City Council.

The briefing aim to provide understanding and exposure to MBI staff regarding tax implementation, especially for construction works carried out by the Council.

It also covered the legal aspects of Service Tax, including related acts, regulations, orders and policies.

The need for this briefing is important as the Ipoh City Council is directly involved in the procurement of works, services and supplies.
