VISIT BY LIANYUNGANG DELEGATION, CHINA TO IPOH CITY COUNCIL

IPOH, 5 JUNE 2025 – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) today received a courtesy visit and official tour from the Lianyungang delegation, China in an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between the two cities.

The delegation was led by Jiangsu Ocean University Vice President Professor Zhang Yuanliang, along with Language Education and Cooperation Centre Deputy Director Zhang Xu, and Yan Jin’e, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and the People's Government of Lianyungang Municipality.

The delegation’s arrival was warmly welcomed by Ipoh City Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak, representing the Mayor of Ipoh. Also present were Council Members, Senior Directors and Department Heads of MBI.

The visit aimed to strengthen friendship ties and open up avenues for strategic collaboration in urban administration, sustainable development and public service improvements through the sharing of knowledge, expertise and best practices. 

The Ipoh City Council hopes that this visit will serve as a foundation for closer cooperation between both parties, thereby contributing to sustainable development and mutual progress.
