FOOD SAMPLING ACTIVITIES IN IPOH CITY COUNCIL ADMINISTRATIVE AREA

10 March 2025 – The Food Safety and Quality Unit of the Environmental Health Department, Ipoh City Council (MBI) has conducted Food Sampling Activities as a food safety control measure to ensure that food sold to the public is clean, safe and complies with the established standards.

The sampling was conducted periodically according to the schedule set by the Perak Health Department, with food samples selected randomly at several Ramadan bazaar locations around Ipoh. A total of six (6) ready-to-eat food samples were sent to the Ipoh Public Health Laboratory for analysis to ensure compliance with the Food Act 1983 and Food Regulations 1985.

If the analysis results indicate a violation of food safety standards, enforcement action will be taken based on the provisions of the law in force.

The Ipoh City Council will continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement efforts to ensure food safety is always guaranteed for the well-being of consumers.
