WORKING VISIT BY MBI TO MBAS

ALOR SETAR, 22 APRIL 2026 – A delegation from the Ipoh City Council (MBI) Public Health and Municipal Services Department conducted a working visit to Alor Setar City Council (MBAS) today to share information, views and best practices regarding the management of cleaning public markets and food courts/hawker centres under the supervision of SWCorp. 

The MBI delegation was led by MBI Health Director Manisegaran a/l Subramanian. The delegation’s arrival was warmly welcomed by MBAS Environmental Health Director Khairudin Idris at UTC Kedah Meeting Hall, Level 5, UTC Kedah Building. 

The working visit, among others, aimed to gain direct exposure to the methods of implementation, monitoring and coordination of cleaning works in public markets and food courts/hawker centres, besides strengthening cooperation network between the two local authorities. 

The briefing sessions were delivered by SWCorp Alor Setar & Padang Terap Branch Manager Mohd Azam Abd Hamid, E-Idaman Sdn Bhd Services Alor Setar & Padang Terap Unit Manager Mohd Hakime A. Kechik and MBAS Environmental Health Department Deputy Director (Enforcement and Promotion) Jazilah Jalaludin, together with the officers involved.

MBI extends its highest appreciation and sincere thanks to MBAS for the kind reception and knowledge sharing provided throughout the working visit. 

It is hoped that this visit will strengthen the cooperative relationship between MBI and MBAS, thus helping to improve the quality of service delivery to the community.
